Traditionally, the Chinese funeral rituals develop according to the age of the deceased, the causes of their death, its social level, and its civil state.  According to the Chinese custom, a greater person does not have to show to respect by anybody more young person. Therefore, if the dead is an unmarried young person, its body cannot be taken to the home, but it must be left in the funeral house. Their parents cannot offer plegarias by the son: being unmarried he either does not have children who execute these rituals for him. If a baby or boy dies, funeral rites are not needed, since respect by anybody minor cannot be shown. Then the boy is buried in silence. The preparations for the funeral begin before the death happens. When somebody dies in the family, all the statues of deities in the house are covered with a red paper and clear the mirrors of the place. One thinks that if one sees the reflection of the coffin in a mirror, in a short time will be a death in his own family. A white fabric is hung on the door of the house and a gong to the left of the entrance is placed if the deceased is man, and to the right if she is woman. Before putting it in the coffin, the corpse with a wet towel is cleaned, talc dusts off to him and gets dressed it in its better clothes. The body gets dressed completely, even the shoes, and maquillaje if she is woman, but never it gets dressed them in red clothes (this would cause that it became a ghost). Generally the colors are used black, brown or blue. Before putting the corpse in the coffin, one covers the face with a yellow fabric and the body with a celestial fabric.

Teaching styles were being followed in these middle schools surely contributed to the relationship between the teachers and the students. In one school in particular, this relationship of respect and friendliness was clearly evident even between the pupils and the Headmistress of the middle school. In such an environment, school time for both the teaching staff and the students, is not fraught with stress nor frustration, so the Chinese schools benefit and provide the service for which they were intended.

Diferents of present participle and past participle

 past participle

English participles, like infinitives, have no tense.

What I meant to say was that "containing" works because, in the sample sentence, we don't need to distinguish "that contains" "that contained" (simple past tense), and "that was containing" (past tense, progressive or continuous aspect), which all reduce to the same participle, "containing".

The other participle "contained" does not fit the context, but might be used in a passive (voice) sense, as a reduced form of "that is contained", "that gets contained", "that has been contained", "that was contained", etc. but a past participle cannot.

Another example (note that no particular tense is implied by either participle)

"Past" participle: a grown man (a man that is, has, was, or had already grown up).

Reduced relative clauses

Although it is not possible to omit the relative pronoun in the subject relative clauses that we have just looked at, we can, if we want, omit an even larger piece of the relative clause and still retain a grammatically acceptable sentence. Using the examples from above, we can say:
  • I can't find my notebook containing all my addresses.
  • She has never met the lecturer leading today's seminar.
  • The tall man standing by the bar is my uncle.
  • The newspaper first reporting the incident is being sued.
This is usually referred to as a reduced relative clause and can only be applied to subject relative clauses not object relative clauses.
The most obvious feature of this type of reduced clause is that the relative pronoun is left out and the verb following the noun always ends in -ing. The second, but perhaps not quite so obvious feature is that the tense of the verb in the original relative clause is not taken into account. Note how the verb tenses varied in the original sentences:
  • I can't find my notebook that contains all my addresses. (Present Simple)
  • She has never met the lecturer who is leading today's seminar. (Present Continuous)
  • The tall man who was standing by the bar is my uncle. (Past Continuous)
  • The newspaper which first reported the incident is being sued. (Past Simple)
These -ing forms of the verb in a reduced relative clause are called non-finite verbs, that is, they are not marked in any way for tense. Here, the tense is carried only in the verb of the main clause.
So, to sum up so far, subject relative clauses cannot lose their relative pronoun, except when the whole relative clause is reduced to a non-finite -ing verb form. Object relative clauses can lose their relative pronoun, but cannot form reduced relative clauses.
Now consider the following set of sentences:
  • The information given in the brochure is wrong.
  • The criminal picked up at the airport was taken into police custody.
  • We saw the new play written by Tom Stoppard at the Old Vic.
  • The second piece played by the orchestra was very well received.
These are also examples of reduced subject relative clauses, but this time the word immediately following the noun which is being described is not an -ing type finite verb but a past participle; these are in bold.
The difference here is that those reduced relative verbs ending in -ing (looked at above) stand in for active verbs, while the past participles replace passive verbs and, as with the former type, they can replace almost any tense.
However, continuous tenses are usually replaced by being + past participle, so in the last sentence we might want to bring it into the here and now by saying: The second piece being played by the orchestra was especially commissioned. Among the possibilities for the full relative clauses for each of the above examples are:
  • The information which is given in the brochure is wrong.v
  • The criminal who was picked up at the airport was taken into police custody.
  • We saw the new play that was written by Tom Stoppard at the Old Vic.
  • The second piece which was played by the orchestra was very well received.

PARTICIPLE RELATIVE CLAUSES

ACTIVE RELATIVE ClAUSES
E.g. The man driving the bus is my brother.
PASSIVE RELATIVE CLAUSES
E.g.The book published last week is on the Table.

Relative Clauses and Present Participle

Remember:
1. A relative clause is an adjective clause.
2. A reduced clause is a phrase.
3. When you are not sure if you can reduce the clause or not, then don't.
4. Usually only one-word participles can be put in front of the noun:
a. The wolves howling tonight must be hungry... The howling wolves tonight must be hungry.

Explanation:
In the sentences above, the relative pronoun (who, which, that) can be omitted along with the verb to be and replaced by the present participle (-ing). Notice that the simple present verb tense changes to the present participle.

In 1b, the verb in the clause expresses a habitual or continuous action, something that happens on a regular basis. Other examples:
a. Kids playing in the streets may get run over. = Kids who play…
However, hobbies and repeated actions cannot take this construction:
b. People who play golf are always prepared for inclement weather.
(compare: The people playing golf today are getting wet from all the rain.)
c. Students who don’t practice their English don’t improve very quickly.
(compare: Students not practicing their English during class time today will be punished.)

In 2b, the verb is in the continuous or progressive tense and can be replaced by the present participle:
a. I am waiting for the student who is writing his final exam early. = …for the student writing…
In 3b, verbs like wish, desire, want, and hope (not like) can be used in this way.
b. Those students desiring a second grammar course please sign up at my office.
c. All the students wishing for a better grade are here studying hard.

When you are not sure, put in the who, which, or that.
Note: These examples are used for defining or definite relative clauses.
